I've spent years watching people fall in love with the ocean - Including my own personal journey.
Some discover surfing for the first time. Others come for a paddle, a swim, or simply to dip in the sea after a long day. Whatever brings us here, the ocean has an amazing way of slowing us down, reconnecting us with nature, and ultimately reminding us what really matters.
Over time, I've found myself asking a simple question:
What if a surf shop could do more than sell products?
What if it could bring together a community, people who genuinely care about the ocean and help turn that care into something meaningful?
That question has led Ocean in a new direction.
We're beginning to collaborate with marine conservation organisations, both locally and afar, to explore how we can support real projects that protect and restore our coastline. Rather than deciding ourselves what those projects should look like, we want to build them alongside the community.
The people who surf here, dive here, swim here, walk these beaches and call this coastline home have valuable perspectives. They know what they care about, what inspires them and how they'd like to get involved.
That's why we've launched our first Ocean Community Survey.
It's a chance for anyone who loves the mediterranean sea to tell us what matters most. Whether that's coral restoration, citizen science, marine education, beach clean-ups or new ways for us to contribute as a community, we want these ideas to come from the people they'll serve.
We're also committed to making every response count in another way.
For every completed survey, Ocean will donate €1 towards local marine conservation. It's a small way of ensuring that even taking 2-minutes to share your thoughts creates an immediate positive impact.
Hopefully, this is only the beginning.
Our vision is to create a community where conservation isn't something that happens behind the scenes, but becomes something all of us can participate in. Through partnerships, education, volunteering, restoration projects and community events, we hope to make it easier for anyone to become a part of protecting the ocean they love.
